Marco Sturm Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

Bruins winger Marco Sturm is on the road to recovery after undergoing right knee surgery.

Dr. Peter Asnis successfully performed an ACL reconstruction, a partial lateral meniscectomy and an MCL repair on the center on Tuesday.

Sturm suffered the injury in the first period of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Flyers, and his recovery time is an estimated six months.

The 31-year-old scored 22 goals and 15 assists during the 2009-10 season.
