Boston Police Advise Celtics Fans to Refrain From Public Drinking

Thinking about cracking a cold one on the streets of Boston during the NBA Finals? Think again.

According to the Boston Herald, Boston police intend to enforce public drinking laws despite the celebratory atmosphere swirling around the TD Garden.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis warned that the police will bust anyone they see drinking in public, and advised fans to drink responsibly and obey police orders.

Mayor Thomas Menino encouraged Celtics fans to wear green on game days, and take public transportation if they planned to attend the NBA Finals.

The Celtics face the Lakers in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at the TD Garden at 9 p.m. on Thursday night. The Lakers currently lead the series 2-1.
