After spending last season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Providence Bruins captain Jeremy Reich said he was excited to return to the Bruins' organization. According to assistant coach Bruce Cassidy, the feeling is mutual.
Cassidy sat down for his weekly discussion to talk about the AHL veteran returning to the black and gold, and he mentioned how much Reich's leadership presence was missed on and off the ice.
"He's a guy that can get you 15-to-20 goals, gives you physical presence, a very good penalty killer and matches up well against other teams' top-end players," Cassidy said. "He's solid for us. Then the intangibles come in after that in terms of his work ethic, his practice habits and his professionalism on and off the ice. You need that to rub off on the younger players."
While he doesn't like to dwell in the past, Cassidy said they definitely struggled without Reich on the lines for the P-Bruins last year, and his return will definitely have a positive impact on the team this season.
