The Red Sox are making moves.

According to ESPN, the Red Sox have contacted agent Scott Boras to express interest in one of his clients, free-agent outfielder Jayson Werth.

Werth owns a .272 lifetime average and hit .282 while averaging 24 homers and 75 RBIs per season in four years in Philadelphia. He hit .296 last season but went down in some power numbers from 2009, when he smacked 36 homers while driving in 99 RBIs.
