Leading up to their regular season general ticket on-sale, the Red Sox are heading out on their 2011 Red Sox Road Trip, delivering regular season ticket vouchers to 6,000 fans across New England.
The Red Sox Road Trip will make stops in all six New England states, kicking off at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., on Jan. 18, and finishing the trip at Woonsocket High School in Woonsocket, R.I. on Jan. 24.
Throughout the six stops on their tour, the Red Sox will distribute redeemable vouchers for each respective State Day game at Fenway Park during the 2011 season. A total of 1,000 vouchers will be given out in each state.
The vouchers will be given out on a first come, first served basis to the fans that visit the road trip locations. Those who receive vouchers will have the opportunity to purchase tickets ahead of the general on-sale, which starts on Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. All vouchers will be valid for two 2011 regular season tickets.
The Red Sox Road Trip will also feature the first “Sing Your Way to Fenway” contest where fans of all ages will have the opportunity to audition to perform the National Anthem at Fenway Park. The top two finalists from each state will be invited to sing in the finals at Fenway Park on Feb. 9.
One lucky fan from each state will win the Grand Prize, the Opening Weekend VIP Experience. The grand prize package includes a pregame VIP tour, the chance to watch batting practice on the field and two tickets to an Opening Weekend game against the New York Yankees.
