One day after the Bruins assigned Zach Hamill to Providence, fellow rookie Jordan Caron is following him to Rhode Island.

The B's assigned Caron to Providence on Monday morning after the 20-year-old was a healthy scratch Sunday in Detroit. After spending the first two months with the NHL club in Boston, Caron was sent to Providence in early December. He was recalled last week, registering no statistics other than a minus-1 rating in three games.

The Bruins' top pick in 2009, Caron has three goals and four assists in 23 NHL games this season. In 27 games with Providence, Caron has six goals and 11 assists.
