Fernando Torres: 'I Don’t Think I'll Celebrate If I Score' Against Liverpool Liverpool's former No. 9 stated on Tuesday that he'd like to score against his former club on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, saying that matching up with his former team so soon is "like destiny."

However, the Chelsea striker isn't looking to upset the Liverpool fans any more than he already has — some fans went so far as to burn replica shirts bearing FernandoTorres' name shortly before his transfer to Chelsea was complete.

With feelings about the Spaniard's sudden departure from Anfield clearly still raging, Torres stressed he could "understand the disappointment but [that he has] only good things to say about the club."

When asked what his celebration might be if he scores, Torres kept things copacetic.

"First I have to play," he said, according to PremierLeague.com. "But I have big respect for Liverpool and the fans, so I don't think I will celebrate if I score.

"I am a Chelsea player now and very excited about the challenge and my first game. It happens to be against Liverpool. It will be a strange situation for me, but if I get a chance to play then I will."

Torres, 26, also explained how much he's learned over the past week.

"I remember growing up as a child and seeing my favorite players leave Athletico Madrid and I could not understand why they would go. But now I realize they were doing the best for themselves, their families and their careers."
