Everyone looks forward to the start of the baseball season, including famous Hollywood actors.

According to Boston Globe beat writer Peter Abraham, Richard Gere will be throwing out the first pitch at Steinbrenner Field as the Red Sox and Yankees square off in the first of two spring training matchups on Friday night.

The Pretty Woman star is a longtime Yankee fan, and has been spotted at several games and even visiting the Yanks' spring training grounds with his 12-year-old son, Homer. This is not the first time Gere has thrown out the ceremonial first pitch for the Yankees, as he tossed the first pitch before a spring training matchup against the Reds in 2009.

A devoted baseball fan, Gere is also the head coach of his son's little league team in their small hometown outside of New York City.
