Daisuke Matsuzaka's Strong Grapefruit League Finish Earns Him Amica Pitcher of Spring Training Honors Daisuke Matsuzaka's spring didn't get off to an ideal start, as he allowed 12 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings over the course of his second and third outings of his 2011 campaign.

Dice-K, though, was using those starts as trial runs for specific pitches, and once he shifted his focus to pitching like it was the regular season, his results took a dramatic turn for the better.

He allowed just three runs in 16 and 2/3 innings over three outings to finish out the spring, setting the tone for what hopefully will be a bounce-back season.
