David Ortiz Rooting for Bruins, Says They 'Need to Win It' The Boston Bruins have gotten tremendous support from the Red Sox this week. The Sox changed the start time of their Saturday game to avoid a viewing conflict with Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, and the team will have Rene Rancourt sing the national anthem prior to Wednesday afternoon's game at Fenway Park.

The B's also have the support of one of the most legendary Red Sox in team history.

"I hope they are going to kick their ass," Ortiz said of the Bruins' chances against Vancouver, according to WEEI.com "They need to win it … We're cheering for them."

Ortiz has been present at several Boston sporting events since adopting the city as his new home this decade. He was a mainstay along the baseline during the Celtics' championship run in 2008, even participating in a dunk show with mascot Lucky, and he helped welcome Kevin Garnett to town before that season. He's also dropped a ceremonial first puck at a Bruins game (pictured above), and he got to know Shawn Thornton and Milan Lucic in a batting practice session at Fenway.
