The average life span of Bostonians probably isn't all that far off from the national average of 78.3, but if we all keep having to endure these Game 7's, it might take a dip.
Between the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins, sports fans in the Hub have been held hostage for 16 Game 7's over the past eight years. Sixteen! And that doesn't even count the do-or-die Patriots playoff games (19 since 2001), three Super Bowl wins, one Super Bowl loss and one conference championship game loss.
To put it simply, Boston sports fans have been through a lot.
Yet, with the Bruins set to face off against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night, with Lord Stanley's Cup on the line, let's not think about the bad times. Let's focus on the good times — and try to imagine what another Game 7 win will do for the city of Boston.
