Who Will Be the Amica Pitcher of the Week This Week? Amidst the offensive onslaught that was the Red Sox' three-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays, few people seemed to notice just how well Clay Buchholz, John Lackey and Jon Lester performed. The three Boston starters tossed a combined 21 innings and allowed only six earned runs on 11 hits.

The Sox' starters hope to keep the train rolling this week, as they ride their hot streak into the likes of hot and balmy Tampa Bay to face the Rays.

Tim Wakefield will take to the mound in the Tuesday night opener. Wakefield, the 44-year-old perpetual "never say die" pitcher, is coming off of a fairly rough outing against the Yankees, in which he gave up five runs over 5 1/3 innings of work. But thanks to the all-purpose cover-up known as the Sox' thundering bats, he was able to come away with the win, improving his record to 3-1 since joining the rotation May 6.

Wednesday night's game will feature arguably the Sox' best pitcher this season, Josh Beckett. The right-hander boasts an impressive 2.06 ERA and he went a solid seven innings in his last start, giving up only two runs against the Yankees on June 9.

The Sox close out the three-game set with the refreshed Buchholz, who tossed a seven-inning gem against the Blue Jays, allowing only three hits and striking out six. While the Sox have had their struggles against the Rays in recent years, Buccholz has pitched well against Tampa Bay, posting a career 3-2 record with a 1.81 ERA.
