After a late night Monday, or early morning Tuesday, whichever way you look at it, the Red Sox look to even the four-game series with the Kansas City Royals, who squeezed by the Sox in 14 innings in the series opener.

Kevin Youkilis is out of the lineup one night after leaving the game with a tight hamstring. Yamaico Navarro will take over duties at the hot corner and will hit ninth.

Jacoby Ellsbury gets a day off after the 14-inning marathon, with Darnell McDonald taking his spot in center field and at the lead-off spot.

Dustin Pedroia looks to extend his AL-leading hitting streak to 23 games while in the clean-up spot.

The rest of the Red Sox offense looks get to Royals starter Danny Duffy early, after the Kansas City staff held the potent Sox offense to one run on 13 hits in the extra-inning loss.

Captain Jason Varitek is behind the mound, catching for Andrew Miller.
