The Red Sox return to the stadium in which they opened the season, but they will be doing so with a lineup that looks a lot different than the starting nine Terry Francona rolled out on Opening Day.
Injuries continue to plague the Sox lineup, something that is evidenced by the starting lineup for the first of four games in Texas against the Rangers.
Jacoby Ellsbury remains out of the lineup after being hit in the back with a pitch on Friday night. Marco Scutaro will assume the leadoff duties atop the Boston lineup, while Darnell McDonald is in center field and will bat second. With McDonald hitting second, Dustin Pedroia remains in the cleanup position.
Making things even more difficult for the Red Sox is the fact that Rangers left-hander C.J. Wilson is on the mound for the series opener. Wilson is 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA in his career against the Red Sox. The Opening Day starter for the Rangers, Wilson has held Red Sox bats to a .183 average.
Pedroia has the most hits of any Red Sox player against Wilson going 3-for-8 in his career against the left-hander.
