FORT MYERS, Fla. –– Camp Tuck is no longer on hiatus.

After bullpen coach and catching instructor Gary Tuck underwent double hernia surgery in the offseason, he came to camp on Monday and will likely resume his regular duties with the team's catchers on Tuesday, Jarrod Saltalamacchia told NESN.com.

"It's a surgery he's needed to have for a while," Saltalamacchia said. "But it's good to get it done now where he's back for when camp starts. He here yesterday hanging around, but [Tuesday] is his first day."

During Tuck's absence –– his camp for catchers is known to be rigorous –– catcher Luis Exposito said Saltalamacchia has helped coordinate some of the catching drills.

"Whatever Tuck's been wanting us to do, we've been doing," Exposito told NESN.com. "Starting [Tuesday] everything should run smoothly like it's supposed to be."
