During four years at Boston College, Tyrese Rice was the master of nailing deep 3-pointers. But I’m sure even Rice has never hit one from as deep as he did on Friday.

Rice has been bounced around Europe since going undrafted after his senior season with the Eagles in 2009. Now he’s playing with BC Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania — averaging 10.6 points and 4.6 assists per game this season, and the score-first point guard is continuing to launch the ball from deep.

On Friday, Rytas was already leading by 17 points with only but a few second remaining in the third quarter, but Rice saw the quarter’s final seconds as just another opportunity to launch a longball.

As the ball was inbounded to end the quarter, Rice took two dribbles and then heaved up a shot from just to the right of his own free throw line. The shot sailed through the air and swished through the net on the other side to put the home side up 20.

Rice scored 13 points off the bench in the game, en route to Rytas 99-79 win over rival Ventspils.
