Daniel Bard was sent to the minor leagues to iron out some kinks in his delivery. He’s still got some work to do.

Bard hit two of the first three batters he faced on Friday night as a member of the Pawtucket Red Sox, according to ESPN Boston’s Joe McDonald. Considering how his last start went, that’s about the worst possible start that you could imagine.

Bard finished the inning after throwing 25 pitches, 15 for strikes according to WEEI’s Rob Bradford. He allowed three runs on two hits along with the two hit batsmen. He also struck out two.

The Red Sox starter was pulled from his last major league start against Toronto after hitting two batters and walking six through 1 2/3 innings.
