NBA teams aren’t the only ones feeling the far-reaching effects of LeBron James’ decision to return to Cleveland.
The impact also is being felt in baseball, and the St. Lucie Mets are here to brighten fans’ days. No, really.
The New York Mets’ Single-A affiliate, which is located a couple hours north of Miami, hopes to cheer up disheartened Heat fans while Cleveland celebrates like there’s no tomorrow. So the St. Lucie Mets are offering season tickets to their 25 remaining home games in exchange for James Heat jerseys and T-shirt jerseys. The Mets also are throwing in a free cup and T-shirt to sweeten the deal.
It’s a better alternative than burning them, as some fans who shall remain nameless did. The Mets will donate the jerseys to Goodwill.
