Red Sox-Yankees Live: Boston, New York Close Out Three-Game Series In Bronx

David OrtizThe Boston Red Sox’s second-to-last road trip of 2014 wraps up Thursday.

The Red Sox are battling the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium for one more game before returning home Friday for the start of a six-game homestand at Fenway Park. Thursday’s series finale marks the team’s final matchup in the Bronx this season.

Brandon Workman and Chris Capuano are squaring off in Thursday’s rubber match. The Red Sox took the series opener 9-4 before dropping a 5-1 decision Wednesday. Hiroki Kuroda shut down Boston’s offense in the middle game.

Workman was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Wednesday. He’s making his first start with the Red Sox since Aug. 23. Workman has lost his last eight starts with Boston. The 26-year-old is looking to rebound down the stretch as he auditions for a spot on the 2015 big league roster.
