St. Louis Cardinals catcher A.J. Pierzynski exacted revenge on his manager Monday night.
Pierzynski, who was left off the Cardinals’ National League Division Series roster, threw a wrench into manager Mike Matheny’s in-game interview by dishing out an exquisite videobomb. Matheny didn’t even know what hit him. (He still might not know, actually.)
Of course, Pierzynski currently is in the business of lightening the mood in the Cardinals’ dugout since he won’t be making an on-field impact in the NLDS against the Los Angeles Dodgers. But hey, whatever works.
It’s been a disappointing season for the veteran catcher, who was released by the Boston Red Sox in July before latching on with St. Louis as Yadier Molina rehabbed from an injury. Why not have some fun?
