The Boston Bruins have had to deal with numerous injuries to key players throughout the first quarter of the season, but Monday they’ll be facing the Anaheim Ducks — a team that’s actually more banged up than the Bruins.

The Bruins visit the Ducks, who won’t have Ben Lovejoy, Francois Beauchemin, Clayton Stoner, Dany Heatley, John Gibson or Mark Fistric in their lineup. But head coach Bruce Boudreau isn’t making any excuses.

“Injuries are a part of the game,” Boudreau said prior to Monday night’s game. “You either play through it and say, ‘To hell with it,’ and somebody takes their spot, or you sit there and moan and groan about it and say, ‘Woe is me.’ I hope we’re not the ‘woe is me’ team. We just go out there and play.”

Meanwhile, Bruins head coach Claude Julien feels his team has dealt with adversity well in November after injuries to Zdeno Chara, David Krejci and Chris Kelly throughout the month.

“We’ve had to adapt, obviously,” Julien said. “I like the fact that we’ve gotten better all the time. There are guys that are getting bigger roles because of (the injuries) and are answering it very well. You hope your team goes through those painful moments, and I think we are.”
