Mookie Betts’ Red Sox Home Opener Explained By ‘Sport Science’ (Video)

Mookie Betts stole the show in the Boston Red Sox’s home opener.

Betts completely took over the game in a span of two innings April 13 against the Washington Nationals at Fenway Park. The 22-year-old’s performance was so impressive that ESPN’s “Sport Science” decided to examine the effort in greater detail.

Betts robbed Bryce Harper of a home run, stole two bases on one play and hit a three-run homer as the Red Sox defeated the Nationals 9-4. It offered a reminder that Betts has superstar potential and that science sometimes is necessary to explain the young outfielder’s dynamism.
