Preakness Draw 2015: Post Positions For American Pharoah, Rest Of Field

American Pharoah’s challenge of winning the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown became tougher Wednesday when he drew the first post position for the 2015 Preakness Stakes.

The Kentucky Derby winner went into the post position draw as the favorite to win Saturday’s race at Pimlico, and it will be interesting to see how this result impacts those odds, as well as his ability to start the race well.

This year’s Preakness field features just eight horses, so there will be more room than normal on the track for American Pharoah to maneuver if he struggles out of the gate.
