FOXBORO, Mass. — Charlie Davies scored twice, Lee Nguyen added a penalty kick and the New England Revolution beat 10-man Toronto FC 3-1 on Saturday night.

Davies opened the scoring for the Revolution (8-9-7) in the 35th minute with a point-blank finish off Kelyn Rowe’s cross.

Jozy Altidore was sent off four minutes later for violent conduct. He kicked in frustration at Revolution defender Jose Goncalves, who was on the ground after the two battled for a ball in the air.

Lee Nguyen doubled the lead with a penalty kick in the 44th minute, and Davies made it 3-0 in the 62nd.

Jonathan Osorio got one back for Toronto FC (8-8-4) with a right-footed shot from the top of the box in the 75th minute.

U.S. national team star Jermaine Jones entered the game in the 76th minute, his first appearance for the Revolution since May 31. He missed nine games due to a groin injury.
