Spring training is a time for new beginnings, apparently including the once-frosty relationship between David Price and David Ortiz.
Many wondered how the new Red Sox ace and the longtime Boston designated hitter would get along after the former signed a seven-year contract during the offseason. Price and Ortiz have some unfriendly history from the pitcher’s time in Tampa Bay, so it was a natural question.
Price insisted it wouldn’t be an issue, and their first interaction after Ortiz reported to spring training Monday certainly reinforces that theory.
The Red Sox tweeted this photo of the two sharing a big embrace in their first meeting of the spring.
So far, so good.
