The Boston Celtics will start the second half of the season without Kelly Olynyk in their lineup.

The Celtics center will miss Boston’s first two games after the All-Star break — against the Utah Jazz and Denver Nuggets — following a second opinion Thursday morning on his injured shoulder, coach Brad Stevens told reporters Wednesday.

“I wish I could tell you (the specifics),” Stevens said, via MassLive.com. “I have no idea. I’ve been in contact with Kelly with how he feels, but not in the diagnosis. He’s very sore. So that’s why he’s seeking a second opinion. What we saw was a bruise, last Wednesday or whatever it was, and we’ll see and go from there.”

Olynyk suffered the shoulder injury during the Celtics’ overtime over the Los Angeles Clippers right before the All-Star break.
