Adam Zaruba apparently is the Odell Beckham Jr. of Canadian rugby.
Zaruba made the play of the weekend during the Paris leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series, snaring a kickoff out of midair with one hand and taking it the distance for a try against Wales.
You don’t have to know rugby to appreciate that kind of athleticism.
Zaruba’s highlight-reel score gave Canada an early 12-0 lead, but it was all Wales from that point on. The Welsh rallied for 17 consecutive points to hand the Canadians a 17-12 defeat.
Canada is one of 16 nations battling for the 12th and final spot in the inaugural Olympic rugby sevens tournament, which takes place this August at Rio 2016.
