The Pittsburgh Penguins are your 2015-16 Stanley Cup champions.

The stars were aligned for the Penguins to win the CupĀ on home ice Friday, but the Sharks forced a Game 6 in San Jose on Sunday. But the second time was the charm for the Penguins, who won their first Stanley Cup Final since 2009 four games to two, with a 3-1 Game 6 victory. Captain Sidney Crosby won the Conn Smythe Trophy for MVP of the playoffs.

The Penguins were locked in a close one with the Sharks early on, but Kris Letang put the Penguins up for good with his second-period goal.

And it was smooth sailing for the Penguins from there.
