Rob Gronkowski’s Twitter activity has New England Patriots fans on the edge of their seats.

Gronkowski’s future remains uncertain, with retirement rumors continuing to swirl, and the tight end even might be enjoying the drama a bit, as he’s fired off several cryptic tweets in recent days that have done nothing but drive folks insane.

One tweet came Wednesday shortly after NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said Gronkowski is expected to return in 2018. It simply said “#clueless” with an emoji of a guy shrugging, but it was enough to get people wondering whether Gronk was responding directly to Rapoport’s report.

Making things even more interesting was a response tweeted a few hours later by Gronkowski’s good friend, WWE superstar Mojo Rawley:

Now, it’s possible Rawley, one of Gronkowski’s best friends, just wanted to have a friendly conversation with so much going on or that he was playing into the crazy reaction the tweet generated just for kicks. But there have been rumors about Gronkowski possibly pursuing a career in WWE if he retires from football, so it’s hard not to read Rawley’s quote tweet without at least raising an eyebrow.
