Leave it to Brad Marchand to get under everyone’s skin.

The Sedin twins — Henrik and Daniel — recently announced they’ll retire after this season, prompting the NHL world to pay its respects to the durable Vancouver Canucks stars. Marchand chimed in Thursday, wishing the Sedins well on Twitter.

All good, right?

Well, let’s just say some Canucks fans didn’t appreciate Marchand’s platitudes.

The Bruins, if you’ll recall, won the Stanley Cup at Vancouver’s expense in 2011 thanks in large to Marchand, who tallied seven points (five goals, two assists) in the seven-game series. Which set the 29-year-old up perfectly for a terrific comeback:

(It’s the Stanley Cup, guys. Marchand took the Stanley Cup from the Canucks.)

Marchand’s troll job won’t make him any more friends in Vancouver, but he’s never been one for popularity contests, anyway. You do you, Brad.
