Gordon Hayward hasn’t been visible during the Boston Celtics’ NBA playoff series with the Milwaukee Bucks, and the star forward really was a ghost during the latter part of the regular season, for that matter.

But behind the scenes, Hayward is working hard to get back to 100 percent.

Hayward’s wife, Robyn Hayward, honored her husband and his rehab process in a heartfelt Instagram post Friday night. Robyn shared a photo of Gordon holding one of the couple’s daughters, Bernadette, along with a lengthy caption.

“We miss daddy (Charlie does too!)… i don’t think people realize the sacrifices Gordon’s making to get better,” she wrote. “He works so hard and sooo many hours training and trying to get back to himself. All while dealing with me and the girls. It’s hard being in a new place and a new home and getting home sick and dealing with (surgeries) for our family and me getting stressed out. But he does and he never complains lol and i can be a lot to deal with ?.

“He does sooo many annoying and tedious workouts that a lot of people wouldn’t do. He’s not just trying to get back to normal he’s getting back to be a professional athlete which looks super hard lol I for sure could not be in that good of shape. He’s going to look sooo good playing!??

“Anyways I just want people to know how great he is and how much he’s workin at getting back to himself… he’s just the best and we miss him? #weappreciateyoubabe.”

Let’s hope Gordon’s hard work pays off.

The Celtics have yet to officially rule out Hayward for the season, though it’s nearly impossible to imagine him returning at any point during the playoffs. The C’s could’ve used him and injured point guard Kyrie Irving on Friday night, however, as Boston got blown out 116-92 in Game 3 against the Bucks.

Game 4 in Milwaukee tips off Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET.
