Rob Gronkowski will be at Gillette Stadium this Saturday, but not for any New England Patriots-related activity.
The Patriots’ home stadium is set to host a Monster Energy AMA Supercross event, and Gronkowski — who counts Monster Energy among his many endorsements — is scheduled to address reporters in a pre-race news conference.
From a news release promoting the tight end’s appearance:
“A lot has been reported recently about Rob Gronkowski’s absence from Gillette Stadium, his whereabouts and his life after football. Gronk will host a fun and informative pre-race press conference that will play up Rob’s whereabouts.”
It’s unlikely Gronkowski will talk much football during this “fun and informative” presser, but it will be interesting to hear from the Patriots star after he chose to skip the start of New England’s voluntary offseason program earlier this week.
Quarterback Tom Brady also has been absent from workouts thus far. A report this week from ESPN’s Jeff Darlington indicated Brady is not expected to participate in any of the voluntary portions of the offseason program.
