The New England Patriots entered Tuesday with 80 players on their roster. By 4 p.m. ET, they’ll need to be down to 53.

That means at least 27 players will be expelled from the Patriots’ roster over the next several hours. New England can remove these players by releasing/waiving them, trading them or placing them on season-ending injured reserve.

Follow along with this tracker throughout cutdown day to stay updated on each and every Patriots roster move.

— The Patriots announced their full list of roster cuts. See them all here.

— The Patriots waived interior offensive lineman Kody Russey, per a report from Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson. Russey made a push for the backup center job behind David Andrews and should stick around on the practice squad if unclaimed.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey’s bid for a roster spot fell short. The Patriots released the big-bodied wide receiver, per multiple reports. Humphrey was a standout performer in the Patriots’ first two preseason games and could land on the practice squad.

— The Patriots are waiving wide receiver Tre Nixon, per multiple reports. Nixon was the breakout star of minicamp but couldn’t maintain that momentum this summer, seeing only occasional reps with the first-team offense. He’ll be another practice squad candidate if he clears waivers.

— The Patriots waived two-way lineman Bill Murray, per a report from Pro Football Focus’s Doug Kyed. A practice-squad defensive tackle for his first two seasons, the Patriots tried Murray out at guard this summer. He dealt with injuries and never was in realistic roster contention.

— The Patriots waived linebacker Cameron McGrone, the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels reported. The 2021 fifth-round pick generated considerable hype this offseason but never rose above the scout team in training camp and struggled in the preseason. He’d benefit from another year of development on the practice squad.

— The Patriots waived defensive tackle Jeremiah Pharms, per a report from the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels.

— The Patriots waived long-shot linebacker Nate Wieland, per a report from Pro Football Focus’s Doug Kyed.

— The Patriots waived wideout Josh Hammond, the low man in their deep receiving corps, Pro Football Focus’s Doug Kyed reported.

— The Patriots are releasing offensive lineman Will Sherman, the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels reported. Sherman is a 2021 sixth-round pick who spent last season on the practice squad.

— Some notable names in this latest batch of cuts: defensive lineman Henry Anderson, running back J.J. Taylor and special teamer Justin Bethel, via ESPN’s Field Yates. Bethel and Anderson are not subject to waivers as vested veterans and could re-sign after the Patriots move players to short-term injured reserve.

— Latest Patriots roster cut: offensive lineman Arlington Hambright, per a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. Hambright saw some first-team looks at right guard early in training camp but appeared to fade over the last few weeks. He’d be another potential practice squadder if he’s not claimed.

— The Patriots are waiving rookie running back Kevin Harris, per a report from NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, making him the first member of New England’s 2022 draft class to be shown the door. Harris, who flashed in the Patriots’ final preseason game after a quiet camp, would be a practice squad candidate if he clears waivers.

— The Patriots are releasing offensive lineman Drew Desjarlais, per a report from the Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels. Desjarlais, a former CFL All-Star, never made a serious push for a roster spot.

— The Patriots are releasing linebacker Harvey Langi, per a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss. Langi missed the final week of the preseason with an undisclosed injury.

— The Patriots are releasing veteran cornerback Terrance Mitchell, per a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

— The Patriots are releasing tight end Devin Asiasi, a source confirmed to NESN.com. NFL Media’s Mike Giardi was the first to report Asiasi’s release. The 2020 third-round draft pick had been competing for the spot on the tight end depth chart behind Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith.
