Patriots head coach Bill Belichick dominated headlines Sunday.
To be fair, this seemingly has been the case since the start of the NFL season, as New England's head coach caught a ton of heat as his team broke out to a 1-5 start. But in Week 7, the chatter about Belichick jumped to the other side of the spectrum.
The future Pro Football Hall of Famer picked up his 300th career win courtesy of the Patriots' 29-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium. The monumental triumph was preceded by bombshell news that claimed Belichick agreed to a "lucrative, long-term" contract with New England over the offseason.
Belichick unsurprisingly refused to address the contract report after Sunday's game, and Mac Jones followed suit during a Monday interview on WEEI. Check out this pretty funny exchange between the Patriots quarterback and "Jones & Mego" co-host Adam Jones:

Adam Jones: Did you get a chance to congratulate Bill on the new contract yet?
Mac Jones: I thought you were going to talk about the 300th win. That's a good one.
Adam Jones: The contract. No?

Mac Jones: Three hundredth win. I think that's really cool that happened. I know we want more. I thought that was great he got that done and it was cool to be the quarterback for the game.
Although Jones looked the part of a legitimate starting quarterback Sunday and Belichick reportedly is contractually tied to the Patriots long time, there's no guarantee either is with New England next season. Team owner Robert Kraft reportedly had discussed the possibility of moving on from Belichick after the season, and the Patriots might be inclined to replace Jones if they use a first-round pick on a quarterback next year.
As for the here and now, New England will try to prove its latest win wasn't a fluke Sunday when it visits the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins.
