Kevin Hart Responds To Tom Brady’s Regret From Netflix Roast

Tom Brady’s “Greatest Roast of All Time” left the seven-time Super Bowl champion and father of three feeling regretful for the hard-hitting jokes thrown throughout the night of the live Netflix special hosted by comedian Kevin Hart.

Hart, a father of two himself, understood where the 46-year-old retired NFL quarterback came from. The three-hour-long roast dug deep into numerous topics that hit home for Brady, including his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, the Deflategate scandal, and his relationship with ex-New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

“When he says he regretted doing it, I don’t think he’s referring to the it,” Hart told Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report. “I think what he’s referring to is saying, ‘I could’ve tapered it a little differently, saying or having a conversation pre of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this or this.’ The idea of going all in and saying, ‘(Expletive) it, I don’t care cause I know the world would love to see me on the receiving end of (expletive) because I’m Tom Brady and I’ve been at the highest stage all my life.'”

Granted, Brady wasn’t the only person roasted that night, but publicizing very personal jokes in front of millions of viewers for entertainment left him thinking twice.

Judging by the way jokes were being hurled at the future Hall of Famer, it seemed as though there were no limits. The only time Brady stepped in was when Jeff Ross made a Robert Kraft joke, which caused Brady to walk toward the comedian and request that the joke wouldn’t be used again.

“I can side with Tom and see where he’s coming from and just him wanting to protect the idea of family and the conversation attached to that,” Hart added, per Bleacher Report. “… I’m not privy to whatever he dealt with after. So I know his response and saying something about it was a result to possibly that. But that thing made people comfortable with the concept of a joke being a joke. It’s a joke.”
