Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet proved why he’s considered their ace in his return to pitching in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. Crochet was drafted by the White Sox in 2020, and was traded to Boston in return for a handful of prospects in the offseason.
Crochet went 7 1/3 innings and made a strong bid for a no-hitter with a season-high 11 strikeouts when Chase Meidroth broke it up with a hit in the eighth inning. Meidroth was one of the pieces sent to Chicago for Crochet.
