Luis Suarez continued his incredible goal-scoring run Saturday by scoring a a hat-trick in Liverpool’s 6-3 rout of Cardiff City.
The hat-trick helped Suarez increase his sizable lead in the Premier League’s top scorers’ race. The Uruguayan now has scored 28 league goals this season — nine more than teammate Daniel Sturridge, who is second on the list.
After Liverpool’s victory against Cardiff City, a delighted Suarez posted a photo of himself holding the game-ball on Twitter.

The hat-trick was Suarez’s third of the 2013-14 season and sixth since he joined Liverpool in January 2011.
Suarez’s exploits this season have helped Liverpool set a new club record for most goals in a Premier League season.
Suarez is also chasing history, as he moved within three goals of matching the Premier League record for most goals in a season, which Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo share. If Suarez scores four goals in Liverpool’s remaining eight games, he will set a new standard for goal-scoring excellence.
