Terry Francona Gives Umpire Jeff Kellogg Taste of Ejection Medicine in Toronto This didn’t actually happen this weekend.

Actually, the picture below features Terry Francona‘s ejection from the Red Sox-Blue Jays game back in May.

But you’d have to say Francona went out in style in Boston’s 9-5 loss to Toronto on Saturday. If you’re going to get ejected, you need to kick dirt, bring a base with you, or do something — and he came through with the classic “reverse ejection move” after getting tossed by plate umpire Jeff Kellogg for arguing Mike Cameron‘s ejection.

Even so, Francona has a long way to go to catch Bobby Cox. Francona now has 28 career ejections, while Cox surpassed 150 career ejections this season. The Atlanta Braves’ legend almost has been tossed from an entire season’s worth of games.

Quote of the Day

“Cam got thrown out, and I just wanted to go find out why, and I didn’t like the answer… Sometimes, that happens. It’s hot, you’re losing, sometimes it happens.”

Comment of the Day

On days like Saturday for the Red Sox, it’s hard not to wish the team had a few extra arms.

“I just saw that one of the final five all stars in the NL was Billy Wagner, closer for the Braves. Didn’t the RS have him and sent him packing because they had so much pitching, they could just get rid of their excess. Could sure use him now.”

Video of the Day

With the final day of the 2010 World Cup upon us, let’s take a look at the music video of the official song of the competition, Shakira’s “Waka Waka.” While that may also be Fozzie the Muppet’s catchphrase, Shakira has given it new meaning, to the effect of 86 million views on YouTube, even if it sort of looks like she’s doing karaoke on a soundstage with an African band in tow.
