Chad Henne on Tim Tebow: ‘He’s Not an NFL Quarterback’

Could the Dolphins draft University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in next month's NFL draft? Not if incumbent Miami quarterback Chad Henne has his way.

According to Yardbarker.com, Henne was not particularly impressed with Tebow when the two faced off in 2008, when Henne was the starter at Michigan.

"The only take I have on Tim Tebow is us beating them in the Capital One Bowl," Henne told a South Florida radio station. "My judgment is he's not an NFL quarterback, I'll leave it at that."

Henne led the Wolverines to a 41-35 victory over Tebow's Gators in their New Year's Day matchup two years ago. Tebow threw three touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown in the contest, but his performance did not convince Henne that he could succeed in the NFL.

Scouts have different views on Tebow, and there's little consensus on whether or not the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner will become a successful NFL quarterback. Tebow has spent the past two months working to improve his throwing mechanics in the hopes of improving his draft stock.

"There's still a lot of room for improvement, a lot of things that I think I can get better at and I'll continue to work on it, continue to get better," Tebow told USA Today. "But I think I made a lot of strides."

Dolphins' quarterbacks coach David Lee is one of several experts who have been helping Tebow since the Senior Bowl.
