Has the Bruins-Canadiens Rivalry Lost Some of its Fire? One look up and down the Montreal Canadiens' roster simply doesn't induce the same level of rage it once did in Bruins fans in years past.

And that's very, very disappointing.

Just one Kostitsyn brother? An American-born captain in Brian Gionta?

Gone are such hated foes from recent years as Saku Koivu, Mike Komisarek and Georges Laraque. I don't even want to ruin your Thursday by bringing up the hated Habs of the 1990s, '80s and beyond.

Granted, the Habs are still Public Enemy No. 1 in the North End, but the rivalry seems to have lost some its fire.

Since sweeping the Canadiens out of the postseason in the first round of the 2008-09 Stanley Cup playoffs, there has been little bloodshed between the two Original Six franchises. Last season, there were just 47 total penalties in six contests while just one double-minor (high-sticking) was served and one fight broke out. That "fight" featured winger Blake Wheeler and Ryan O'Byrne. Montreal captured last season's series 5-1 with just three one-goal games.

Has this rivalry lost some of its fire? What needs to happen to reignite the NHL's most historic border war?
