There was a scary moment in Browns camp Thursday when linebacker Marcus Benard passed out and fell off his chair in the locker room, according to Mary Kay Cabot.

Benard was on the phone when he passed out, just 20 minutes after being interviewed by the media.

The linebacker was conscious when trainers tended to him. A Browns spokesman said Benard is stable and alert at a nearby hospital but would not elaborate.

The 6-foot-2, 256-pounder is in his second year in the NFL after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Jackson State. In 13 career contests, he has 27 total tackles and 8.5 sacks.
