Red Sox Not Ready for ‘Drastic Measures’ With Daniel Bard, But Something Needs to Change Soon
With temperatures in the 40s on Saturday afternoon, Hall of Famer and NESN analyst Jim Rice was understandably cold as he gave his insight on Yawkey Way prior to the Red Sox' matchup with the Blue Jays.
Rice was presented with a Red Sox Snuggie to keep him warm, and he donned the blanket-sweatshirt hybrid on the air during Red Sox First Pitch Presented by UNO. Just like that, a legend was born.
The Red Sox responded with a 4-1 victory over the Jays behind a dominant effort from Josh Beckett. On Sunday, Rice turned back to the Snuggie, and again, the Red Sox came away victorious behind Jon Lester and Jacoby Ellsbury.
Call it "The Power of the Snuggie."
The Snuggie will make its triumphant return on Monday morning as the Red Sox look for their first three-game win streak of the season in the series finale against the Jays as part of the annual Patriot's Day matinee.
Be sure to tune into NESN starting at 9:30 a.m. with Monster Monday to see if the Snuggie can propel Daisuke Matsuzaka and the Red Sox to their third straight victory.
