The troubles continue for John Daly.

In the first round of the Australian Open on Thursday, Daly became so frustrated with his play that he walked off the course, withdrawing from the tournament.

On the 11th hole, Daly hit a total of 15 shots before running out of balls. He then proceeded to hand in his scorecard and stormed off the course. Daly had been seven over par through the first 10 holes of the tournament.

Daly told the AP he still can’t find confidence in his game after his injury nearly five years ago. He also never imagined he would run out of golf balls during a round.

“I love the fans here in Australia. They’ve been great,” Daly said. “I’ve never played well here. Try too hard and it backfired. It might not be bad if they ban me … because I’ve never played well here. But I do love the people here and this beautiful country. I take responsibility for my actions. I always have and I don’t blame anybody but myself.”

Not long after he withdrew on Thursday, the PGA of Australia said he was no longer welcome in two weeks for the Australian PGA Championship.

Trevor Herden, Golf Australia’s director of tournaments, called Daly “unprofessional” and said “I would say this is the last time we will see John Daly.”

Daly, who has had a rough history in Australia, has yet another long flight ahead of him.
