The Bruins put forth a solid effort on Sunday in New York, but they again were unable to defeat the Eastern Conference-leading Rangers. Back in Boston, meanwhile, Rajon Rondo powered the Celtics past Jeremy Lin and the Knicks in overtime at TD Garden.
The B's appear to be in better shape than the Celtics right now, but Rondo's gritty performance on Sunday showed how valuable the young point guard is. And as trade rumors continue to swirl around Rondo, perhaps his tough style of play could benefit the Bruins as they look to overcome the Rangers come playoff time.
The B's already have plenty of enforcers, but they could use some scoring punch given the injuries to Nathan Horton and Rich Peverley. Maybe Rondo could temporarily lend his services. After all, he already showed he can take down a team from the Big Apple.
