Scott Podsednik Tapped to Lead Off for Red Sox as Boston Seeks Sweep Against Blue Jays

Scott Podsednik Tapped to Lead Off for Red Sox as Boston Seeks Sweep Against Blue JaysScott Podsednik has been awesome for the Red Sox since being called up from the minors after an early-season trade.

The veteran is batting .391 and has helped Boston plug its injury holes in the outfield.

Podsednik will shift into the leadoff spot for Sunday's final game against the Blue Jays as the Red Sox look for a sweep.

Daniel Nava, another call-up who has done serious damage in the bigs, will bat second. He had a four-hit night for Boston on Friday and drove in two runs on Saturday.

The Red Sox are hoping for more production Sunday out of Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz, who combined for just one hit on Saturday. Gonzalez will be back at first base.

Kelly Shoppach is starting at catcher, where he'll work with Daniel Bard (5-5). In Bard's last outing, he went head-to-head with reigning American League MVP and Cy Young award winner Justin Verlander. Bard came out with the win and the better line, and he'll look for his third straight appearance of at least 5 1/3 innings and no more than two earned runs on Sunday.

Toronto is sending Drew Hutchison (4-2) to the mound. Aside from a couple of wobbly starts, Hutchinson has been great for the Jays. In his last game, against Baltimore, he went seven scoreless innings and struck out nine.

Here are the lineups for Sunday.
