Report: Michael Bourn Agrees to Four-Year Contract With Indians

The final big-name free agent of the baseball offseason has found a home just in time for Spring Training.

Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported via Twitter that former Braves outfielder Michael Bourn has agreed to a four-year, $48 million contract with the Cleveland Indians, with a fifth-year vesting option for an additional $12 million. Cleveland will reportedly forfeit a draft pick, as well.

Bourn compiled a .274/.348/.391 slash line in 2012 — his only full season in Atlanta — and was named to the National League All-Star team for the second time. The 30-year-old will join fellow newcomer Nick Swisher in the outfield for Terry Francona‘s Indians.

Several teams were reportedly in the running to sign Bourn, including the Mets, who were said to be having “ongoing discussions” with the outfielder as recently as last week.
