Manny Ramirez Jr. Expected to Be Selected in This Week’s MLB Draft, But Not by Red Sox

Manny Ramirez Jr.A familiar name to Cleveland, Boston and Los Angeles baseball fans should to be taken at some point in this week’s MLB draft.

Manny Ramirez Jr. is expected to be selected in the middle rounds of the MLB draft, according to The Boston Globe. The 17-year-old first baseman batted .365 with two home runs and 27 RBIs in 74 at-bats with IMG Academy.

The Red Sox are not expected to select the oldest son of Manny Ramirez.

“We’ve seen him, but we are unlikely to draft him,” a Red Sox executive told The Boston Globe. “I don’t know what other teams think of him. He does have some power.”

Ramirez was not listed on MLB.com’s Top 100 prospects or Baseball America’s Top 500.
