MLB commissioner Bud Selig will receive the first-ever Commissioner Bud Selig Leadership Award at the Baseball Assistance Team charity dinner next Tuesday night. All jokes aside, the B.A.T. is a non-profit organization affiliated with Major League Baseball, helping those in the “baseball family” who have fallen on hard times.
Selig has been a polarizing figure throughout his tenure as commissioner, and he is planning to retire at the end of the 2014 season after 22 years in the role.
