Hilary Duff and former NHL player Mike Comrie are splitting up after three years of marriage.
The 26-year-old singer/actress’ rep confirmed Friday that the couple has “mutually decided to an amicable separation,” according to People magazine. Duff and Comrie have a son, Luca, who will turn 2 in March.
“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” Duff’s rep said in a statement. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”
Comrie, 33, played with the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins during his 13-year career. The NHL journeyman retired in 2012 after undergoing hip surgery for the third time.
