Gareth BaleIt only seems like Gareth Bale is hitting his stride at Real Madrid because, well, he truly is.

Bale, 24, has performed impressively in recent weeks. On Thursday, the Welsh Winger told Agence France Presse that his good form reflects the comfort level he has reached in Spain — a little over six months after leaving Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League.

“Naturally it has taken me a bit of time to get used to everything, but I am really enjoying my football and especially the weather,” Bale said.

“I still feel like there is a lot more to come from me. Hopefully, I can keep improving and playing well.”

Bale joined Real Madrid last September in a jaw-dropping transfer worth €91 million ($126 million, £76 million).

Bale initially struggled, as injuries slowed his adaptation. But he has returned to form amid Real Madrid’s 29-game unbeaten run. Bale also has embraced a new style of soccer, which he found upon arriving in La Liga (Spain’s first division).

“The big difference is the tactical play and the way all teams play a lot of good football,” Bale said. “There are no long balls like there are in England.

“That is the biggest thing about Spain, it is all passing and movement. It has been a new experience which I am obviously learning from and enjoying.

“All the teams, no matter if they are at the top or the bottom, try to play football. It is exciting, it is a great league and it is great to be playing here.”

Bale has 14 goals and 11 assists in just 25 games (in La Liga and the Champions League) for Real Madrid. These gaudy numbers should help calm fears that Bale would fail in Spain and allow him to progress and achieve at his own pace.
